The history of SWS Group, Inc. dates back to the spring of 1972 when Southwest Securities, Inc. was established in Dallas as a new securities broker-dealer.  From that modest beginning, Southwest Securities has grown to become one of the nation's top clearing firms (InvestmentNews, December 2008) and one of the leading regional securities firms headquartered in the Southwest.
